Daniel Davis Wood

Hi, I’m Daniel.

I’m a novelist, essayist, editor, and publisher, originally from coastal Australia and now based in the hills outside Edinburgh. I’ve got several books to my name, as well as occasional writings in a range of venues. My fiction is represented by the Shaw Literary Agency. My reviews and essays, going back fifteen years, are now all on Substack.

Among other things, I’m also a podcaster, literary translator, fiction editor for a magazine, and the founder of an acclaimed small press. Other than popping up irregularly on BlueSky, I’m not active on social media, so the best way to contact me is via the form below.

If you’re looking for further details about me, you can read more.

I’ve been writing literary reviews and essays for nearly twenty years, so my archives contain a lot of material. All of my occasional work now resides on Substack and includes longform reviews, brief notes on literature, contributions to discourses, Q&As with writers, and more.
